Mama Needs a Project takes pride in providing in-depth, hands-on product reviews backed with extensive research to help you find the best products for your projects.
We believe testing goes beyond the numbers, and the only way to accurately gauge whether a product is worth your money is through hands-on testing of products.
That’s why we’ve purchased hundreds of products over the years and have conducted thousands of hours of testing to provide the best feedback possible about each product we test.
In rare scenarios in which we do not have the product on hand, we sift through hundreds of customer feedback reviews, interview industry experts, and talk with our community to get authentic thoughts on products and provide an unbiased review.
Product Testing Principles
- Overall Quality – The overall quality of products is one of the most important factors we consider when recommending products. Products should be manufactured with quality components that don’t break under stress and have a long useful life.
- User-Friendliness – Not everyone is an expert, and we believe certain products should be easier to use for those with less experience.
- Durability & Reliability – We believe that products should be reliable for years, not months. To account for this, we routinely revisit and test products months after our initial use to see how they hold up.
- Price – When considering the quality and durability of a product, we also take into account the price of the product. We hold higher standards for products that are priced higher than competitors.
How We Choose Products to Review
The products in our reviews are chosen based on a deep understanding of the category and which products are best suited to solve your problems.
We understand that not everyone will be using a product for a certain use case, so we aim to highlight which projects or scenarios a product might be best for.
We do NOT consider affiliate relationships when choosing which products to recommend.
Review Integrity
As a publication, we believe editorial integrity helps to better our readers experience. Therefore, any review in which a product was sent to us without cost will be clearly labeled as such.
Additionally, we aim to provide not only the good qualities of a product, but also the bad so you can get a better grasp of the product and if it is right for you.
Updates to Reviews
As new products come to market and we expand our testing, our product reviews will be updated reflect these changes. While we aim to keep our reviews as up to date as possible, there may be instances in which we miss a new product. You can send feedback to the reviews team using the email below.
