How Much Deck Stain Do I Need for My Deck?

The amount of deck stain you’ll need to completely cover your deck will depend on numerous factors including the size of your deck, the stain you’re using, and the type of wood you’re covering.

For smaller decks, you should be able to get a single coat with 1-2 gallons of stain.

For medium sized decks, you should be able to get a single coat with 2-3 gallons of stain.

For large sized decks, you should be able to get a single coat with 4+ gallons of stain.
